Other Areas of Support for the Coach

  • Practice Calendar
With the assistance of the competitive team coaches, a calendar will be created and maintained throughout the summer for all levels of coaches to have an opportunity to observe a competitive team’s practices and methodologies. Practice themes will highlight, as examples: passing, shooting, tactical, in which the observing coaches can see how a practice is organized and executed while gaining insights on techniques they might be able to utilize with their own teams.
  • Mentoring
A mentoring system will be created allowing recreational coaches to interact directly with their counterparts to further their development. Recreational coaches at each age level will be given an opportunity to have a recreational and competitive team’s coaches work with that age group and/or team(s).
  • Periodic Coaches Meetings
It can be expected that an informal recreational coaches meeting will be held 2-3 times (or more if necessary) per session – pre-season, during the season and post-season; per age group. Meetings will be open to all coaches, assistant coaches, managers, conveners and house league directors and will be led by the Club Head Coach. The intention is to build a sense of community amongst the coaches, give direction on any rule changes, and most importantly to let the coaches have input into the program.
  • uAs part of the KUSC’s renewed online initiatives, a significant amount of informational support will be provided to coaches in the form of practice outlines, drills, tips, frequently asked questions and advice for coaches to access at their convenience.

If you have any comments or questions in general and/or are interested in taking one or more of these courses, please contact Darrel Connor, King United SC, Head Coach at Spaces for courses fill up quickly!

King United SC wants to ensure our volunteers are receiving the support and communication that they need to make the season a success.
